Plaça Indústria in the heart of Sitges is the place to be if you’re looking to experience the true gay energy of Sitges. All the gay bars and clubs in town line this square and neighbouring streets so you can hop from place to place for the variety of entertainment on offer. Enjoy a meal, sit back with your drinks and people-watch, or sample popular cruise clubs, dance clubs, and drag shows. The bars and restaurants all have seating on terraces and pedestrian streets, letting the party spill outside and filling the square with energy each night.
While you'll struggle to find a Lisbon bar that doesn't welcome LGBTQ+ travellers, most of the dedicated gay bars can be found in the neighbouring areas of Principe Real and Bairro Alto. The street at the heart of it is Bairro Alto where you'll find crowds of gays hanging out and drinking in the street late at night, since bars and clubs here are busiest around midnight and the early hours. These atmospheric streets come to life after dark, letting you party till morning and explore a diverse range of venues from traditional pubs to decidedly more modern cruise clubs.
Stockholm’s gay nightlife is centred in the old town (Gamla Stan) and the trendy Södermalm district, known for its open-minded, creative atmosphere and welcoming LGBTQ+ scene. The nightlife here offers a mix of stylish cocktail bars, relaxed lounges, and high-energy dance venues, often featuring themed events, drag performances, and live DJs. While not all venues are exclusively gay, most are queer-friendly and draw a diverse, inclusive crowd. In summer, outdoor patios and waterfront bars become popular gathering spots, adding a vibrant, social feel to the evenings. The city’s compact layout makes it easy to explore several nightlife spots in one night. Whether you're in the mood for a quiet drink, mingling with locals, or dancing into the early morning hours, Stockholm’s gay nightlife is friendly, progressive, and full of character. The scene reflects the city’s broader values of inclusivity and equality, offering LGBTQ+ visitors a fun and safe space to enjoy the night.
Frankfurt has a queer neighbourhood known as the Bermuda Triangle, apparently as many people have disappeared there for many hours - bars can stay open 24 hours in Frankfurt, so it's easy to lose track of time! Head towards Alte Gasse in the Innenstadt for a number of LGBTQ+ bars and clubs.

It sits directly opposite Hyde Park at the beginning of Oxford Street, so Sydney’s best-known LGBTQ+ nightlife is only a few minutes away while the CBD lies in the other direction.
Rooms are spacious by central Sydney standards, with large bathrooms, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and excellent views from many higher floors. The real highlight is upstairs, where the rooftop swimming pool and terrace look across Hyde Park and the city skyline. There’s also a 24-hour fitness centre, sauna, restaurant, bar and 24-hour room service.
Museum Station is just around the corner, providing straightforward airport connections, while Pitt Street shopping, Surry Hills and the Australian Museum are all easily walkable.

Woody's & Sailor
Toronto
Woody's is an institution, not only on the famous Church Street but across the country, since its appearance on Queer As Folk. This bar draws crowds of tourists from across the world as well as loyal locals, seeking great drag shows and regular "best" competitions. The venue boasts multiple levels and a total of five bars, having merged with Sailors, a neighbouring bar, to create an amazing club space that's bigger than you realise.
Cheer Up Charlies
Austin
There's a place for everyone at Charlie's, which unsurprisingly attracts a diverse and slightly hipster crowd. The bar is located in a colourful cabin and serves vegan food alongside fresh organic juice cocktails and a selection of local beers. Behind the bar you can find a large outdoor music venue, where events are hosted nightly and you can enjoy a drink in the shade of an afternoon. There are also regular movie screenings and storytelling events.
Uproar
Washington DC
This Shaw neighbourhood bar is central to the gay scene and is especially busy on sunny days when the rooftop can be enjoyed to the fullest. When the deck isn't packed, the top floor is full of music and dancing and a side of jumbo wings. There's karaoke every Monday night that draws a lively crowd, and since Uproar is DC's premier bear bar, there's plenty of hot men to get to know here.
