Its gay cafes and bars are thriving, and luckily for you they're all in one place! in Kemp Town is home to almost all the gay bars, clubs, and everything social, from traditional pubs to a host of gay saunas. The bars in this area tend to attract a diverse crowd, but some attract larger proportions of specific groups so you can be sure you find your new favourite place to hang out and have fun on any night of the week.

There are plenty of places for a drink here in Vancouver at any time of the day, particularly in the queer areas. The main gay scene on Davie Street may be small but its packed full of energy and has a thriving nightlife. There’s always a party and a dance floor waiting for you every night of the week. If late nights aren’t so much your thing, then day drinking and people watching are also popular pastimes here, so you’ll find a number of bars and pubs with their patios open for a social drink during the day.

While you'll struggle to find a Lisbon bar that doesn't welcome LGBTQ+ travellers, most of the dedicated gay bars can be found in the neighbouring areas of Principe Real and Bairro Alto. The street at the heart of it is Bairro Alto where you'll find crowds of gays hanging out and drinking in the street late at night, since bars and clubs here are busiest around midnight and the early hours. These atmospheric streets come to life after dark, letting you party till morning and explore a diverse range of venues from traditional pubs to decidedly more modern cruise clubs.

It's a fairly traditional place whose small bar space is packed with regulars every Saturday night and still busy throughout the week. The owners host a quiz and curry night every Tuesday arrange other themed events as well. For many regulars, the highlight of the week if the great value Sunday roast served at The Marine Tavern every week.

This legendary hotel on the beachfront in the heart of the gay scene is home to the iconic Tea Dance, a lively afternoon dance party that's known across the world - daily 16:00-19:00 in high season. Even if you are not staying at the hotel, you can head to the bar and sundeck. The hotel itself features a heated pool and a spacious sundeck with deck chairs where you can sit back, enjoy the music, and sample delicious grilled food and fresh salads.
