RADIO FREE MOOSE: The "College Rock" 80s

RADIO FREE MOOSE: The "College Rock" 80s
Somewhere in the space between Post Punk/New Wave of the early 80s and the big corporate Alternative Rock of the 90s, lies the sweet spot of College Rock or Modern Rock. Represented largely by MTV's 120 Minutes and most 80s college radio stations, indie or college rock saw little underground bands like REM, U2, The Church, Psychedelic Furs, INXS and The Smiths grow in popularity, and post punk/new wave bands like The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, Siouxsie, Peter Murphy and The Talking Heads evolve in sound appealing to the 80s kids growing up and into a more elevated but still VERY danceable sound. This Friday, Moose taps into his prime college years with RADIO FREE MOOSE, a loving and oddly joyous tribute to those precious years when it all still felt like our very own music secret club. Moose's Friday night weekly dance parties remain online until a such time bars like sponsor Sofo Tap can fully open. Until then, go to and sign up for a free account and his always free dance parties.
