Despite very solid registration levels:
ART COLOGNE and COLOGNE FINE ART & DESIGN
must be postponed following a political decision
New date for both trade fairs: 17 to 21 November 2021
Despite of very solid registration levels and extensive preparations that included implementation of #B-SAFE4business, a package of measures by Koelnmesse for coronavirus-compliant hosting of events at the Cologne location, the two art fairs that were set to be held in November 2020, ART COLOGNE and COLOGNE FINE ART & DESIGN, must now be postponed to a new date: 14 to 18 April 2021.
The postponements are due to the decision, taken 28 October 2020 by the German federal and state governments, prohibiting trade fairs through to the end of November 2020.
“With our package of measures, #B-SAFE4business, we were excellently prepared to host trade fairs under coronavirus conditions. Both trade fairs had a great deal of support and trust from galleries and dealers alike” said Daniel Hug, Director of ART COLOGNE and COLOGNE FINE ART & DESIGN. “This makes it all the more important that, with the postponement until April, we can create fresh outlooks for all those involved.”
2021 will also feature two preview days with exclusive access for invited guests (17 and 18 November), with the fairs open to the general public from 19 to 21 November 2021.
Exhibitors at both trade fairs are not required to reapply, as the commitments to participate and the contracts concluded will remain in effect. Registered exhibitors who wish to withdraw may do so at no additional cost.
Already in November, concurrent with the dates originally planned for this year’s trade fairs, an extensive range of digital content and conference formats will be available at www.artcologne.de.
